Restoration is sweat, seeds, herbicide, beautiful flowers, "Ahh! Why is all this seed stuck to me?!", "What is this?", fire, trash bags, cutting so many seed heads you get blisters, creating a habitat fit for a variety of animals and plants, fun, and patient work. Restoration is a lot of things, but the end goal is to create a more diverse and native habitat similar to what would have been in the area before humans brought animals and plants from different countries that may have taken over and pushed out what was there.
Stewardship workdays include removing invasive species, collecting native seeds for future plantings, and everything in between. If you are interested in learning more about restoration we encourage you to join us on one of our workdays. Training will be provided, we ask that you please wear appropriate outdoor clothing, bring water, bug spray and sunscreen. Upcoming work days:
