Guided Hikes

Guided hikes are a great way to enjoy nature, exercise, and learn about Franklin Creek State Natural Area while being bathed by the forest or immersed in the blooms of the prairie. ​Topics discussed can range from birds to fungi to geology and more. Check below for start times. Hikes are typically about 2 hours and over varying terrain. Hiking trails are chosen based on hiking group's ability and the trail's availability. 

​Guided hikes are FREE, please consider making a small donation to keep us active at Franklin Creek State Natural Area. RSVP is recommended by calling 815.456.2718 or following the link below! If the hike has been cancelled, FCCA will post to social media and contact registered hikers. Registration closes ONE day prior to the hike.

Hikes will leave from the Grist mill at 1893 Twist Rd, Franklin Grove, IL. Unless otherwise noted.
